A Message from President Judith Stahl
Colleagues and Friends,
I am humbled with the task of serving you as MACAC President for the 2020-21 year. The celebration of our 50th Anniversary inspires the acknowledgement and appreciation of Past Presidents and the enthusiasm of our talented volunteers. I am honored and privileged to work alongside a strong presidential team and executive board anticipating a year of adjustments in this virtual world for which we now operate but I remain optimistic for a progressive year of initiatives of proactive work, innovation, and continued service to our membership. While our landscape may be unstable, I promise the support you can expect from your MACAC family will not waver.
Our strategic plan continues to build strength in membership, leadership, and access and success and we are working collectively to provide creative and fluid advancement. The work of our MACAC Committees has pivoted to virtual formats from a calling of public health restrictions. In fact, I was eagerly anticipating the kick off of our 2020 50th Anniversary Annual Conference when that evening of set up, Governor Whitmer placed necessary public health restrictions on gatherings and we packed up what we had set up in anticipation of a wonderful two days of reconnecting and learning. I remain optimistic as we pivot our programming and initiatives to virtual formats and applaud our membership for their resilience and support.
In these times of uncertainty, our organization is dedicated to ensure our members remain connected to each other for support and networking opportunities. Regardless of how we connect, we continue to seek understanding and ways to support students in the Mitten State. Involvement is both professionally and personally rewarding. Join the fun - reach out for more information if you’re interested in professional and personally rewarding involvement by serving on one of our many committees (https://www.macac.org/content.aspx?page_id=42&club_id=262200). Robust professional development opportunities are on the horizon and members within our organization have been recognized at the National Level for their contributions placing our Affiliate on the map. We are a proud organization and yet we have work to do.
As a member of our MACAC family, you can count on a nurturing community including professionals from college admissions, enrollment management, public/private/independent counselors, community-based organizations and a deep history of dynamic retirees. I am proud to serve you and eager to hear ALL voices from across our State.
Judith M. Stahl, President
